2x2

Happy Monday Afternoon to everyone! This morning I slept in 30 minutes past my alarm clock, looked over at my darling hubby and BOTH dogs soundly sleeping on the bed and thought "this is not fair!" ha. Oh well, I got up, got ready and headed to work. Since I was obviously having a little 'case of the Mondays' I thought I'd share two things I'm loving and two stories from this weekend that I'm sure will make you at least smile...

So.. first.. I am absolutely LOVING....

This is such a great Cd! I've got it playing on my ipod during walks, in my car and on my computer when I'm home. If you have a chance to purchase this... do! It's so good!

The second thing I'm LOVING is... This big blue truck!!Kevin has been wanting an old beater truck to putt around in and use for hauling trash, going to and from to work, etc... and he spotted this gem over the weekend. It's a 1994 F-150, extended cab and it runs great! Exactly what we were looking for. Thank you Lord!

And now.. the two 'funny stories'.

First you need to know that drive thru coffee shops are like Starbucks in Seattle here in Alaska. There is literally a coffee stand every other block in this town.. It's what people do! Going somewhere.. pick up a coffee! Well, Kevin and I noticed a new coffee shop near our house that we thought we better try out on our way to the grocery store.. so we pull up and review the list of coffee's which are placed in categories: A cup. B cup. C cup. D cup. We pull up to the window a youngish gal opens the window wearing.. not kidding... a SEE THRU purple shirt and ONLY a pink bra underneath. I am NOT joking. Kevin orders his drink and the little gal hustles to make it and take his money, all the while I'm sitting in the passenger seat laughing. Kevin looks at me and says "what?" I mumble under my breathe.. "do you see what that girl is wearing.. she's only wearing a pink bra underneath that shirt...." trying not to make eye contact with him so the gals have NO clue I'm talking at all, let alone talking about them... He didn't even notice the gals shirt but once he did see her 'outfit' found it to be super awkward.. but he laughs too. He finally gets his drink and looks at the coffee sleeve which reads "C Cups Coffee".. He doesn't think twice. I look at that and say C CUPS!! that's the name? Then we start discussing the sign. A cups. B cups. C cups. D cups... Yes. it's exactly what you are thinking. Bra Sizes= Coffee Sizes. Are they serious? Kevin finds the whole thing to be entirely too awkward and will never go back. It's just too weird, he says. I agree.

Story 2. Sunday night Kevin and I are running around in the new blue smurf truck and I'm getting annoyed because I'm hungry. What I want is some yummy pasta or pizza and salad bar.. mainly wanting lettuce, cheese, cucumber, ranch dressing, croutons and sunflower seeds. So, we sit down at Catina's- a little family restaurant we frequent, and as the waitress is taking Kev's order, I'm mumbling, ahh.. I want ravioli AND salad bar, but the ravioli comes with a salad.. ah.. it probably won't have all the fixin's I want on it though.. ahh.. mid mumble, the waitress stops, looks at me and says.. verbatim: "you want, salad bar AND ravioli dinner? WOW. that's a lot of food." I stop for a mere second, in shock but then very very quickly replied "well, I'm pregnant..." like that makes it ok? whatever. it seemed to satisfy the waitress and made me not think twice about actually ordering the ravioli and getting a one time salad bar which I loaded up on.

I hope you all had equally as memorable weekends!

XOXO

Seward

Good Morning!! These pictures are long over due considering we went camping in Seward all last weekend! Better late than never I suppose. Dave (a man Paul and I work with) was kind enough to let us take his RV to Seward for the weekend and it was fabulous! Tents are so overrated. We got an awesome camping sight right on the beach. Here's our immediate view..

Paisley and Minnie came with us. They were pretty excited to be around so many people and dogs. Minnie attacked two yellow labs the last day we were there. It was SO embarrassing. She got off her leash, ran out of the Rv and full on attacked two big dogs. I'm not quite sure where she's acquired this false sense of confidence.

All tuckered out after a big first day camping...

I thought this was a cool picture.. some random guy dumped a bunch of fish guts in the ocean and the seagulls went ballistic.

(note: Paisley eye balling Kev's beer)

A few last day photos from a heck of a camping trip.

Three Months

(at first I was mad at kevin for 'RUINING' this photo.. then I relaxed and took a second look and thought it was cute because he really is thumbs up ecstatic over my little baby bump!)

I'm pratically 15 weeks along now (14 weeks, 5 days) .. well into my second trimester. My energy level is lifting and my nausea has subsided drastically. With my second trimester well under way I thought a quick 1st trimester recap was in order. So how did the first three months go?

Well…

Weight Gain: 5lbs

Cravings: Hamburgers!!

Nauseous: yes. 24/7 and chicken?- absolutely disgusting!

Energy: next to none. Literally slept in all my free moments. Housework was put on a hold. Thanks to my wonderful hubby the house didn’t fall apart and the dogs got fed.

Exercise: Continued working out at class three times a week regardless of how I felt (the last 3 weeks of tri 1- not so much though)

Favorite Moment: Besides the obvious…. Kevin saying “I love you Sprout” every single day to my belly.

Overall: I’ll say this, I had much higher expectations of myself pre-pregnancy. I just knew when I got pregnant I would be the type of gal to eat SUPER healthy ALL the time, exercise just like I did pre-pregnancy, only gain weight in my belly, be super organized all the time and have that beautiful glow every single day. That’s not exactly how the last three months looked but I have to say I just adore being pregnant. I’ve fallen in love with Kevin a hundred times over in the last three months. I’ve found a new sense of self worth and confidence- the “I’m going to be a mom” type confidence.. something I never knew would feel so natural. Being pregnant and knowing my little Sprout is fluttering away is the best blessing I could ever have prayed for.

My Dad

My Dad is a faithful man. One with integrity who overcomes all things. My Dad is a man of God. One to look up to. My Dad is generous and kind. He is my best friend.

He is a Dad to more than just me.. he is a Dad to my husband. He loves us both and sets an example for us to follow.

When we need him, he is always there.

I am blessed to have a Dad who has been there for me every single day. I am blessed to know that I'm more and more like my Dad every single day.

Thank You Dad. For loving me unconditionally. I hope you know how much I love you. I miss you and can't wait to see you! Thank you for being the best Dad to me and my family. I am so happy my little Sprout will know you the way I know you.

Happy Fathers Day!!!

GUS

Abbie got a new puppy- a half chihuahua half pug, named Gus!!! He is so adorable. Exactly the same size as my darling Minnie was when I got her. Oh so cute!

Welcome to the family Gus!! And ps. How beautiful is Abbie?!!!!

An Amazing 10 Days

Kevin and I just got back from a 10 day trip to Arizona. It was amazing to say the least. I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I had planned on but I did capture a few special days.

Roberta drove out to see us last Sunday night and early Monday we all headed to the Verde River for a 12 mile hike. It was a gorgeous 80 degree sunny day, of course and the hike itself was..well, intense. It was basically 5 miles straight down a mountain, followed by about a mile to the Springs and then 5 miles back UP the mountain!
The rest of the week we spent with my parents and meeting up with friends at different restaurants and homes for dinner/lunch and lots of catching up. It was so nice to see so many wonderful friends. We also did a few tourist type activities like walking around the shops in downtown Prescott:) I so love downtown Prescott.
My mom bought this darling dress for me which I love! Thanks MOM!!

Friday, Mom and I met Jessenia at Wild Iris coffee shop downtown. We enjoyed wonderful girl talk, coffee and apple German cake. I loved every second of it.
What a lovely day it was.
Over the weekend we had a big fish taco/game night with the Buehlers. It was a blast!!! I wish I could have every single person that I love together in one place- ALL the time.
Like I said, I didn't take nearly as many pictures of the fun things we did. But I hope each and everyone one of you I got to see and made time to see me, knows exactly how much you mean to me. It was such a relaxing and refreshing trip. I miss everyone so much. I miss having my Mom and Dad to see and hug every day. I miss laughing with my dear friends. I miss the HOT sun. But while I was in Arizona I missed my girl time with Julie and Shellea. I missed seeing Paul everyday at work. I missed our home. I missed Alaska. It is so comforting to know I have such an amazing group of people in my life in both Arizona and Alaska. It's incredible to know that I truly love life both in Arizona and Alaska It's the best feeling to realize that as long as I'm in the Lord's will- life is amazing. Kevin and I are exactly where we are supposed to be. So back to Alaska it was... and you know what? It's good to be home.

Sedona Hiking

A couple of weeks ago we took a mini day trip to Sedona to hike Devil's Bridge. A natural bridge formed from the red rocks- these pictu...
