Thanksgiving

Thankful for best friends, waking up next to the love of my life, Gods anointing in raising our son, Mason kisses, Starbucks holiday cups, chilly mornings followed by warm afternoons, new business ventures, mint green nail polish and extra thankful for this thanksgiving weekend we're spending in California.

Thankful for so much this time of year.

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you!

Our darling sweet pea.

Much to our heartache, we found out yesterday that I lost the baby.

Thursday morning I began spotting and by late Friday I was in the ER for an ultrasound. The Lord answered our prayers so incredibly and the ultrasound showed a strong fetus and the sweetest little heartbeat. I instantly fell in love. Over the weekend things progressively got worse and I knew what it could mean. I leaned on the Lord for his continual peace and knew without a doubt, that whatever his plan was, it was perfect.

Kevin took Wednesday off and we went to the Dr. for another ultrasound. I told the Lord the entire car ride that I knew his will was right and I trusted him with every inch of my being. As Kevin and I held our breath, waiting to see something, anything on the ultrasound screen, the technician finally told us with a sadden face, that there was nothing there.  As she left the room I instantly burst into tears. Kevin held me as I sobbed and sobbed. When I finally thought I was ready to let go, he held me tighter and I realized that it wasn't just me crying and it wasn't just me being comforted. He needed my comfort too. So we held onto each other longer and cried. Afterwards all I could say was, the Lord knows.

My heart broke in a way I never knew was possible but thank God in such a huge way that he gave us that baby. For a small moment in our lives I was growing the most precious soul who is now forever with the Lord, and what could be better than that. Thank you Lord for your path, your comfort, your peace, your mercy, your gentleness and your love.  Thank you Lord for our sweet pea.

Our precious little sweet pea left us on a sweet November day.

a holiday

This week, Monday was a holiday for everyone so we decided to load up the cooler and spend the afternoon at the lake... and it was perfect. Picture an afternoon with the greatest group of friends, delicious food, ducks to feed, football and lots of laughter... and that would be our day at the lake. Like I said, perfect!

Halloweenie... a Month Late

Obviously I'm late posting anything from last month.. but I'd rather post now than not at all. The Halloween festivities in our little town are just divine. I love them. Mortimer Farms has a huge event all month long with a corn maze, pumpkin patch, music, rides, vendors, food, trailer rides etc.. Mason loved it! They have the cutest little train ride for kiddos to take and you could practically hear Mason giggling and laughing the entire way through the farm. A few weekends later, our downtown courthouse square hosted a Halloween pumpkin picking event along with bouncy houses, games, candy etc. Another big hit for M. I didn't really get Mason a Halloween costume with year- not sure why, he did get a really awesome Batman shirt with a cape though. And he wore it a lot- in fact, he still does!

a 7 week blueberry

At 7 weeks my little sweetpea is now the size of a blueberry.  It's still incredible to me to think about the tiny little miracle growing in my belly. I already love this darling so much. I have a feeling it's a girl. So much about this pregnancy is already different from M. I'm craving sugar, sugar, sugar oohh and more sugar. It's bad. I try REALLY hard not to indulge since I'm only 7 weeks and let's be honest the whole 'eating for two' thing just isn't true. OH, how I wish it was! I'm still crossfitting- taking it easy of course. I pace myself and go with light weights. My belly is already chubbier than normal but I'm taking it with stride.  I just hope my butt doesn't get any bigger- wishful thinking? probably. Mason is incredibly cute when I ask him where the baby is and he points to HIS belly and says "baby?" ha. Then he remembers and touches my belly and says "baby, mama! baby." cutie. I have zero morning sickness or food aversions which I'm continually thankful for, I'm also past any sort of exhaustion I felt in the very beginning. My only real big pregnancy 'thing' is hot flashes- I'll be minding my own business and the next thing I know I'm a 150 degrees and ripping off my layers. It's comical really. My first prenatal check-up is Tuesday... I'm so excited! I love knowing that next Summer I'll be cuddling the smallest little baby and thinking to myself that M couldn't possibly have ever been that tiny. He'll instantly transform into a little boy next to little blueberry and I'll be in this new bliss of being a mama of two. The Lord is so good. Happy Thursday everyone.

A little sweetpea

That's right! I'm expecting! hooray!! I found out last week and couldn't wait one second to tell Kevin, so I ran right out of the bathroom into the living room and shouted "I'm Pregnant!" Both my parents were in the room too. Not quite as romantic as it could have been but I couldn't think! I was just SOO thrilled that those two pink lines had showed up. I estimate I'm at 6 weeks which means our little baby is the size of a sweet pea.  I fell off the blogging wagon the last few months but I'm re-motivated again with baby on the way. So be on the look out for a huge recap of what we've been up to and loads more posts as I progress through pregnancy number two. Our family of three will be a family of four next Summer...ya! Thank you Lord!

A couple of weeks ago we took a mini day trip to Sedona to hike Devil's Bridge. A natural bridge formed from the red rocks- these pictu...
